How to Get Involved with the Real Warriors Campaign

Together, we can spread the message that reaching out is a sign of strength! Here are nine ways to get involved with the campaign:

  1. Provide a link to the Real Warriors Campaign website or resources on your website or blog.
  1. Follow and engage with the campaign’s community on:

    Use the campaign’s online forums to connect with each other, refer friends to the campaign as a trusted resource and access psychological health care resources.

  1. Join other campaign partners like DoD and MHS organizations that are sharing Real Warriors Campaign content to their social media sites.

  1. Feature the Psychological Health Resource Center or Real Warriors Live Chat as a resource on your website.
    If you or a loved one is seeking additional information about psychological health concerns and available resources, call the Psychological Health Resource Center at 866-966-1020 to speak with a trained health resource consultant 24/7, 365 days a year or through the Real Warriors Campaign Live Chat. These consultants are ready to talk, listen, and direct users to resources in their area and answer questions about invisible wounds.

    For immediate assistance for those in crisis, call the Military Crisis Line at 800-273-8255 and press 1 for 24/7 confidential support.
  1. Order or download our free campaign materials to distribute at training or educational events, or display at your facility. Materials are available in any quantity and shipped free to anywhere in the world.picture of campaign materials
    Display materials in key locations on your base such as gyms, recreational facilities, military hospitals or clinics, family support centers, dining facilities and other high traffic areas to direct service members, veterans and their families to psychological health care and support resources.
    • As of August 2018, more than 3,000 military, civilian and veteran organizations have ordered over 2,500,000 materials from the campaign. Join them in spreading the word that reaching out is a sign of strength.
    • Veteran’s Affairs Medical Centers and Vet Centers have ordered more than 190,000 materials to display at their facilities, distribute at reintegration events and use at trainings and musters.
    • Operation Gratitude ordered more than 60,000 pieces of material to send in care packages to service members serving in contingency operations overseas.
    • Defense Commissaries Agency distributed co-branded shopping bags and displayed posters at more than 250 commissaries worldwide, as well as newcomers’ briefings, health fairs and other outreach events.
    • Help Heal Veterans included a variety of materials in therapy bags for 1,000 veterans to help manage stress and cope with PTSD.
  1. Use Real Warriors Campaign video profiles, public service announcements (PSAs) and podcasts in training sessions, briefings and presentations to service members, veterans and families.
    Share inspiring stories of Real Warriors who improved their lives by reaching out for psychological care and learn tips on how to stay mentally and physically fit. Some examples of ways you can share these videos include:
    • Share Real Warriors Campaign video profiles and PSAs in presentations to show service members, veterans and their families real stories about the positive impacts of reaching out. Campaign profilees have included Sgt. Maj. Of the Army Raymond Chandler III, Navy Cmdr. (Chaplain) Steve Dundas, Marine Gunnery Sgt. Mathew Barr and Air Force Staff Sgt. Joshua Williamson.
    • Pair campaign profiles and PSAs with leadership messaging or readiness trainings. For example, the Marine Corps paired Staff Sgt. Josh Hopper’s profile with leadership messages; the profile is an integral part of the Operational Stress Control and Readiness (OSCAR) trainings to teach Marines how to prevent, identify and manage combat and operational stress concerns.
    • Video profiles and PSAs can also be used in commander briefings, suicide prevention and awareness training, and other education and outreach initiatives.
  1. Embed or run a Real Warriors Campaign video profile or public service announcement on your website, closed-circuit television or TV station.
    You can also share Real Warriors Campaign website articles with local news outlets and on-base publications to amplify these vital psychological health messages with your audiences, directly reaching service members, veterans and families with
  1. Join the Real Warriors Campaign Partnership Network to collaborate with the Real Warriors Campaign and amplify our shared messages and resources.
    Our network of partners includes Federal and military organizations and programs as well as 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Current partners include Department of Veterans Affairs, Navy Drug Abuse Prevention Program, Elizabeth Dole Foundation and Give an Hour.
  1. Download and spread the word about our free, award-winning “Real Warriors” app on the App Store.
    The Real Warriors app is an online photo-sharing service that encourages the military community to support their fellow warriors. Users can upload photos to the Wall, salute their peers, share photos, and access 24/7 psychological health resources. Users can also access the Wall via realstrength.realwarriors.net to honor those who serve from any device.
