Military Medical Experts to Offer Update on Push For Early Diagnosis of Combat Brain Injuries

As the U.S. military urgently seeks new and more accurate tests to detect mild traumatic brain injuries (mTBI) -- a potentially life-long disability afflicting an estimated 20 percent of U.S. soldiers returning from  Afghanistan and Iraq --  leading military medical researchers will present a detailed update on efforts to improve early diagnosis, monitoring and treatment during the upcoming Battlefield Healthcare conference in Washington, D.C.
