Multimedia

Sharing stories and knowledge lets all warriors know that they are not alone in dealing with a psychological wound or traumatic brain injury. Talking about the psychological effects of war on service members openly breaks down stigma. Learning what others are doing to address these issues creates new opportunities for healing.

Real Warriors multimedia programs will bring personal stories and new ideas to life. Over time, this section of the Web site will grow to include:

  • Profiles of warriors, their families and caregivers.
  • Case studies of promising programs and approaches to psychological health.
  • News and other timely information.
  • Training materials and other resources.

Profile:
Lt. Col. Mary Carlisle

An experienced critical care nurse, Air Force Lt. Col. Carlisle thought she could handle anything on deployment to Iraq. But, the casualties she saw daily took a toll on her psychological health. Returning home with PTSD, she initially worried about seeking treatment, but then found the strength to get the help she needed.
